Water search and cavity detection up to 250 m depth
Are you looking for underground water deposits or hidden cavities up to 250 m deep? The GeoSeeker is a professional geoelectric water and cavity detector, which determines the ground resistance and visualizes the measured values in sensational 3D graphics. It is a mobile, easy-to-use geoelectric detector that is developed and produced in Germany.
OKM’s GeoSeeker is successfully used for water search up to 250 m depth in Africa. The team in Mali uses the water detector for humanitarian purposes.
The GeoSeeker uses a geoelectric measuring method based on the Schlumberger method with which ground resistances are measured. Starting from this ground resistance, the detector can locate underground water deposits, water-carrying layers and groundwater levels as well as cavities such as caves, tunnels, chambers and the like.
Find Water with GeoSeeker Measurement Methods
The electronic components of the GeoSeeker are fully controlled by Android tablet. All commands and measurement results are transmitted using Wi-Fi. With the already pre-installed software application, you can select one of the following measurement methods:
Active measurement (accurate)
When using this measurement, current is fed into the ground via two electrodes. Two further electrodes measure the resulting voltage drop at specific measuring points in order to determine the final ground resistance. This measurement method is used to detect underground water deposits, hidden cavities or barrier layers in the soil. In active measurements, you can define an individual depth range in which your measured values are determined. They thus define a starting and end depth between 5 and 250 m.
Active measurement (fast)
This type of measurement represents a fast version of the accurate measurement. Electrical current is also fed into the ground in order to measure the voltage drop and to determine the specific ground resistance.
Passive measurement
During a passive measurement, the GeoSeeker uses only two electrodes to measure the naturally occurring voltage of the ground (no current is released into the ground). This mode is used to detect running water in the underground.
Configuring and performing measurements on the GeoSeeker App
The GeoSeeker App for Android Tablet provides simple step-by-step instructions to perform a complete measurement. You simply follow these instructions until your measurement is completed.
The GeoSeeker offers four measurement profile types:
- Single measurement (only at one point)
- Full measurement (a rectangular field)
- Longitudinal measurement (one single track)
- Cross-sectional measurement (one single track)
Analyse measurements in the app and in Visualizer 3D Studio
After completion of the measurement, a 3D representation is calculated from the measurement data and displayed on the tablet. Some color regulations are available to optimize the graphic representations of underground water deposits, water-bearing layers and groundwater levels (shown in bluish colors) as well as those of cavities, caves, tunnels, chambers or barrier layers (shown in reddish colors).
Thanks to the great updates of Visualizer 3D Studio, GeoSeeker measurements can now also be displayed, optimized and analyzed in more detail in the 3D software. The new render view Volumetric 3D is an important milestone for GeoSeeker users.
GeoSeeker Transport
The measuring electronics of the GeoSeeker are installed in a waterproof and shockproof case. Thus, your equipment is perfectly protected and always ready for transport.
